Calgary, AB – RGL Reservoir Management Inc. is proud to announce staff changes within its leadership team that will result in even better service for new and existing clients. Effective immediately, two new directors will round out the leadership team: Colby Sutton and Tim Ottenhof.
Ottenhof’s new role is Director – Canadian Operations, which will lead the engineering services, Canadian sand and flow control manufacturing operations, quality assurance, and environment, health, and safety teams based in Leduc.
Sutton is promoted to Director – Business Development, which includes guiding the technology development, business development, and sales and marketing teams based in Canada, the US, and internationally. Sutton and his team will also maintain a close working relationship with sales teams at RGL’s US subsidiary, Pacific Perforating Inc., based in California, as well as in the Sultanate of Oman and South America.
Ottenhof has been at RGL for nine years. Holding a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, he began his career in the oil and gas industry working offshore in South East Asia, maintaining and programming electrical systems on deepwater seismic vessels and drilling applications. As a Field Service Technician, Ottenhof began his Electrical Apprenticeship while working on rigs all over the globe. After completing his Journeyman Electrician ticket, Ottenhof became a rig electrician eventually moving into management as the Electrical Service Manager for a domestic drilling contractor. He then joined RGL (formerly Regent Energy Group) and became the Maintenance Manager, continuing to improve his professional development and achieving his Master Electrician certification and LDP training. In 2018, Ottenhof was promoted to Operations Manager before this most recent promotion.
Sutton has been at RGL for six years and is currently pursuing his Executive Master of Business Administration – eMBA from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business. A mechanical engineer with many years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Sutton has been involved in oilfield construction and cold primary field operations, as well as thermal drilling and completions engineering. At RGL, Sutton started as RGL’s Technical Sales & Completions Engineer before moving onto roles of Business Development Manager – Canada, Business Development Manager – Global, and Business Development & Technology Manager before this most recent promotion.
