Post CHOPS Session at SPE Heavy Oil Conference to be chaired by Dr. Mahdi Mahmoudi

Dr. Mahdi Mahmoudi is an internationally recognized expert in sand control engineering and has been invited to be a Post Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand (CHOPS) session chairperson at the 2020 SPE Canada Heavy Oil Conference in Calgary, Alberta.
The Heavy Oil Conference is a co-located exhibition with the Unconventional Resources Conference. Both events are premier platforms in North America for the exchange of industry information. The conferences run March 18 – 19 to allow energy professionals to attend over 90 technical sessions.
On March 18, the Post CHOPS technical session will discuss how conventional EOR methods are not applicable to heavy-oil reservoirs and explore strategies that have shown success. Discussion will review experimentation, numerical simulations, and field piloting to examine the recent findings and advancements to the Post CHOPS recovery process.
This will be the first time Dr. Mahmoudi has chaired at the Heavy Oil Conference and RGL is thrilled he will share his expertise.
