RGL’s Q-Selector™ is a liner deployed flow control device for new well completions with a simple inner port tube and an outer slotted or screened tube design. The Q-Selector™ is used most commonly for both optimal outflow and/or inflow distribution control for cyclic steam stimulation (CSS). Additional applications include steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) wells, water re-injection wells, solvent injection, or a combination of steam/solvent injection and production wells. Installing multiple Q-Selectors™ can improve the distribution of steam into the target formation and control the inflow of produced fluids.

The Q-Selector™ is completed and designed with high slot density slotted liner or screen resulting in high open flow areas for optimal exposure. An integrated slotted liner or screen for reservoir-specific sand control is combined and deployed in a single trip. The Q-Selector™ provides choked flow and can be designed to allow for higher injection pressures, which may provide strategic fracturing of the reservoir sand for exploitation applications such as in CSS.
